What You’ll Need

Changing your Kubota Mower's oil and oil filter is easier than you may think. You only need four simple tools to get the job done:

  • Oil filter wrench
  • Selection of hand tools
  • Oil pan
  • Some rags

When Should You Change Your Oil Filter?

Regular oil and filter changes keep your Kubota Mower running at peak performance, preventing engine wear and extending its overall lifespan. Here’s the recommended scheduling for the two different engine models:

Briggs & Straton Engine

First oil change – After the first 5 hours of use

Routine maintenance – Every 50 hours or a year of operation

If you’re using a high-efficiency oil filter, like the Kubota’s, it can be changed up to every 100 hours of operations

Kawasaki Engine

First oil change – After the first 8 hours of use (break-in period)
Routine maintenance – Every 100 hours of operation

By sticking to this schedule, you’ll ensure your mower stays in top shape for many seasons and protects your investment.
